Grant type specific guidelines

For each type of application, specific requirements apply in addition to the general requirements above.

  • The applicant is an academic staff member of Erasmus University Rotterdam. He/she has an employment contract at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
  • Partial funding of at least 50% is required from other sources, such as Erasmus University Rotterdam, its faculties, departments, institutes, and/or third parties.
  • The application is endorsed by a full professor and the head of the department or faculty dean.

Applications that do not meet the requirements above will not be accepted.

Erasmus Trustfonds specifically aims to support those research projects that are embedded in one of the Erasmus Initiatives or the programs of the convergence between Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus MC and TU Delft. In order to demonstrate that the application is in line with this aim, applicants are encouraged to add to their application:

  • Letter of endorsement from the academic director of the Erasmus Initiative or convergence program in which the project is embedded.
  • Letter of endorsement from representative of the involved societal partner.

Furthermore, projects where a contribution of the Erasmus Trustfonds can function as an accelerator to attract other third party funds, such as NWO- grants, are preferred. Should this be the case for your project, please indicate at which organisation you are applying for funds as well, what amount you have requested and in which program/call for applications.

Requests of more than €10.000,- can be assessed by the disbursement committee and independent external reviewers.
