About the fund
The Pieter Dedert Fonds (Pieter Dedert Fund) was established from the estate of Pieter Dedert. The Rotterdam self-made entrepreneur amassed a fortune selling ice cream. When he died at the age of 99, he left his entire capital to four charities. The Erasmus Trustfonds received a sum of almost 3 million euros. In accordance to his wishes, Dedert’s legacy is spent on cancer research.
