Supporting science that matters

The Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds intends to support the growth and flourishing of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds has a yearly available budget to stimulate initiatives that contribute to this aim. With its financial support, the Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds co-fosters the aims of the university.

Emphasize lies on funding these activities, on top of the regular exploitation, that enable the Erasmus University Rotterdam to excel and create social and economic impact. When disbursing unearmarked funds, the Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds gives priority to:

 

  • Research projects that fit within the Erasmus Initiatives
  • Research projects where the contribution of the Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds can function as an accelerator
  • Attracting excellent students and supporting students who are in need of a helping hand
  • Stimulating the exchange of knowledge among academic staff

With these priorities, the Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds can make a meaningful contribution to the Erasmus University Rotterdam and support science that matters.

 

Named funds

The Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds manages a number of earmarked funds, the so called ‘named funds’. These funds are designated to a specific aim within the overarching aim to support the growth and flourishing of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The specific aims are defined in line with the wishes of the benefactor.

Supported projects

Annually, the Erasmus Trustfonds receives approximately 500 applications. Of these applications it awards financial support to close to 350 applicants. With this support, the Erasmus Trustfonds contributes to the growth and development of Erasmus University Rotterdam, its faculties and its institutes. This is done via sponsorship, grants, prizes and scholarships in support of PhD-candidates, excellent Bachelor- and Master-students, student associations and other organizations, research projects, conferences and educational activities in all subjects taught at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
