Carolina schrijft: “Studying at Erasmus University Rotterdam was a great challenge for me. For the first time, I left my home country by myself and moved abroad. This helped me become more independent and self-aware. At the very beginning of the year, I decided to get involved in at least one extracurricular activity and try my best to achieve high scores at the exams. I am proud to say that I managed to successfully achieve both goals. I participated in the Vis Moot Competition, which took place in Vienna. It helped me enhance my legal writing and public speaking skills in a way that I could have only dreamed of. This competition also offered me the possibility to travel to Belgium and France in order to practice my oral skills in preparation of the big competition. The pre-moot in Belgium was a great success and the Erasmus team was ranked as the second best team. In addition to the legal skills, I have met amazing people during this journey which resulted in lifetime friendships.
I am extremely grateful for all the knowledge I have acquired during these 10 months, for the countries I have visited, for the people I have learned so much from and for the way Erasmus University Rotterdam helped me to get one step closer to becoming a great lawyer.
From September 2018 I will be pursuing my traineeship at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg and this is only the beginning of the career that I am planning to build.
I know that all of this would not have been possible without the support of my family and the Erasmus Trustfonds. For this, I will be forever grateful!”
